Hi - Jus a small issue, does anyone know how to activate some form of auto locking. A couple of times now we have walked away from the car, thought it was locked only to return with the radio and heating on !! This is quite easy as the lock button seem to require a long press.

It's easy to know if it's locked the mirrors fold in. Pressing the button is by far the easiest way. Don't even need to take the key out of your pocket. ??

As far as I can gather - see other threads - these methods are more secure than one where the car is continually polling to determine if the key is nearby. That method is open to interception and repeater attack.

Whilst the MG must 'look' for the presence of the keyfob I assume it only does this when you press the door/boot button to limit exposure of the signal exchange, but I have no evidence. You do have to be close to the car for the door/boot to open, the keyfob button operates over a longer range.
