Was wondering if anyone has had this done and noticed a difference from not having it?

I has this done on a Kia ICE car a few years back. Wish I hadn't, it left the paintwork with a rough feel to it. Perhaps it wasn't applied properly, who knows. I'm sure others have had it done and have been impressed.

I've had it done on my ZS ICE but I can't see any difference from other cars I have owned that haven't had it. ?‍♂️

I understand it's just a fancy polish you could do yourself.
From what I've read if you specifically want it done it's far cheaper to go to a specialist detailer.
I had it done on a couple of new cars because it was thrown into the deal but like you I couldn't see any difference with cars without the application.
Also I understood it's not a good idea to seal the paintwork on a brand new car.

You can get 'Supaguard' products from various online retailers, its easy to apply yourself I've used it on all of my new cars... very easy to apply and polish off. its often a ridiculous fee for such a simple application, you can get sprays for your carpets and upholstery too, which I've also used.. instructions ((which should always be read -says my wife )are straight forward.

TIP try washing your car with rain water -there's no residue or water spots left even on a sunny day...

I have a white ZS, I found that ordinary wax lasts for 4 or 5 months. Having applied it the dirt doesn’t seem to stick and is easily quickly washed off. I am fortunate to have a water softener in Hants so there is little residue, but in any event a quick wipe down with microfibre cloths takes it to showroom condition.

Had it done on a Skoda Superb from new, never had to polish it and it was still in showroom condition when I parted with it after 4 years

I have had both the supaguard and auto glym versions on my cars. I change them every 4 years or so and have never known them to make that much of a difference to the resale value of the car. To the naked eye not much in them, it depends on how you keep and where you park your cars. I have decided not to go for them again.
Nowadays there is ceramic coating, wrapping etc but they are different and pricey products.

Hi,

Personally I would say no to this, not because such products are no good, but the cost is too great for what you get.

These products can be bought on eBay for less than £20.

Also preparation is key to a good result that lasts. Most dealers won't know how or spend the time to do this properly.

Your money would be better spent on a proper detailer and if you want a long lasting product consider ceramic coating.

Hi
My MG5 in Tri coat red was treated prior to purchase as it was intended to be a demonstrator which I took delivery with just 7 miles onthe clock (5 of them done by me!) and £7,500 discount
The paint finish looks superb and washes very easily, after 4 months it still provides excellent protection. I was also supplied with a large bag containing Autoglym product that would retail for about £60.
I was lucky and not charged for the treatment !
I suspect the treatment is probably worth about £150? but I am glad that my car has been treated.
A more worth while spend was £75 to get the underside treated by my dealer with Waxoyl .Some of the ex factory rust treatment on the MG is a bit thin and I intend keeping the car a long time
