I really do feel for those posting about continual problems with their MG3 hybrid cars but I feel we need a post for all of those who are loving their cars and enjoying the experience.

I count myself as fortunate to not have had any issues in 2 months of ownership and I am absolutely gelling with my car. Yes there is a period of time that needs to be spent learning all the different warning beeps and turning them down to a reasonable level, but that's the same with any new car that has all the driver assistance systems required under new regulations.
I have a few niggles, but I have had with every car I have ever owned and many have been far more serious. I idon't like the way i have to go through menus to get to some options such as heating controls.
Yes there are some idiosyncratic behaviours on the drive train, which I expect will get sorted with firmware updates.
Overall though I agree with the majority of reviewers that it is a good car and suited for its market of city runabout with the ability to do longer journeys when needed. It's comfortable to drive and generally quiet on the road.
It is always the case that many many people who don't have problems never comment so how about a few happy owners join me in saying good things?

I agree with you. The Internet is a wonderful catalyst for negative things.
As with any website that concentrates, the more negative reviews tend to outweigh the positive ones.

Those who don't have any problems don't express themselves or do so very little.
So YES, a thousand times YES, the MG3 was born under the best of auspices and it has many qualities. It's also true that, like any other car, it has its faults, whether minor or major, like even the most expensive and most reliable of cars.

Finally, if any future buyers are reading these lines, or if they are simply curious, they should know that almost 99% (not to say 100%) of the owners of this new MG3 have absolutely no regrets about their choice.

Have to agree with the posts above. I have had mine for just over 2 months and also haven't had any issues so far (touch wood!!). Like others have said it has a few quirky issues and the phone interface is a bit clunky but 30 quid for a wireless Android Auto adapter sorts that out and gives access to the all the other Android Auto stuff without a cable. Problem is I like it so much I keep finding excuses to go out in the car so will need to keep an eye on my finance mileage limit!!!

As stated on 10/10/24. Absolutely no problems. Still loving it. I do find that I have the same problem with the computer as I have with my laptop and phone. Always get there in the end but then can't remember how I did it. But hey, that's just my age I think!!!! P.S. It is however affecting my social life. I am starting to miss my friends at the fuel station!

I agree with all that has been said so far. After three months and 4,500km, I like this car. It's my first automatic and occasionally I still reach out my left hand to change up, but other than that, it's so easy to drive. The handling is way better than my previous car (Diesel Clio) and the fuel economy is on par with it. Ok, it could do with a decent set of tyres as the standard set is just OK and the Android auto connections can be a bit iffy (but that might be the cable). I turn off the LKA using the shortcut, as part of my pre-drive routine and that sets the car up for me. My, finsih/stop routine is to select P and press stop, that way, I avoid the dreaded and attention-grabbing beep. One of the fittings that holds the string for the parcel shelf hopped out, but that's a minor issue. The thing is, I'm back to looking for excuses to drive it, whereas my last few cars didn't have the same effect.
I have had a couple of people ask me about it, as there are not too many about yet, in fact, I have only seen one other one when I have been out driving.

I had an MG HS for 6 months prior to buying MG3 I did not like driving it. The MG3 I really enjoy going out in it and the driving experience, appart from when engine starts screaming at me when it thinks it needs to drop gears which hopefully will be fixed by software updates.
I have never really use any type of cruise control, never have it on so I have never experienced sudden braking and all that seems to be involved with it.

I will never Google an illness because I always imagine the worse case. In the same way, all the negatives that get posted in forums always make me expect troubles. It took a long run the other day before I could turn round to my wife and say how much I enjoyed driving the car. It just takes a while, as with any car, to find where everything is and to gell with it.
