Battery and car pre-heating

I got my MG4 today and have loaded the ismart app and did the whole binding exercise. However my app does not show the option to preheat the battery and seats in the morning. Does the car have to be connected to a charger to do the preheating or is there some setting that I have missed?

No, but you can't schedule it, and have to set it manually before you want to set off. On the home page of the app, scroll down until you have the four octagons. Top left shows internal temp. Click on the "power" button inside that octagon to turn on the preheat. It will ask you for either the PIN you set in the app, or use biometric (fingerprint) to confirm.

It will only work if the app has connected to the car. You may need to refresh by pulling down from top of home page in the app until "Last updated" is current time/date.

Possibly, mine was last updated in June 2023, nothing was 'needed' at the last service.

@TheunisS, you may have the White theme set in the app so will not see octagons. The rectangular 'climate' icon gives access to heating, cabin and seat, and the battery icon access to battery heating. Again you may need to refresh the home page or obtain a Status (shield button) for the request not to work.
