Butt pain mg5 trophy

Had the mg5 for about 2 months and find the leather seat rather hard and difficult to get comfortable in. My left butt gets a dull pain from driving for >30 mins. Does anyone else experience the same problem?

Nope but I do use a padded seat cover. You don't carry a wallet in a back pocket do you? I did that for years and it lead to real back pain from the twist in my spine.

Assuming a right hand drive.
I find the left leg is hard to get comfortable because the foot rest is too close to the driver. I often find in a longish trip the left leg and butt get cramps.

Someone else has removed the foam triangle foot rest and I am thinking of doing the same.

I had an MG5 Trophy as a company car and found it really uncomfortable on long drives to the point I had continual leg pain. Luckily my employer allowed me to swap to a Skoda Enyaq and now the pain has gone.

My wife has an MG4 Trophy and the seats in that seem much more comfortable. One of the biggest issues I found with the MG5 seats was the seat cushion was too short.

No, no wallet in my back pocket.

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing the issue. I got a cushion now which helps but it render the heated seat useless.

Assuming a right hand drive.
I find the left leg is hard to get comfortable because the foot rest is too close to the driver. I often find in a longish trip the left leg and butt get cramps.

Someone else has removed the foam triangle foot rest and I am thinking of doing the same.

I tend to rest my left foot by the brake, as you said the foot rest is really high up, but it's still rather uncomfortable.

Ahh... I've only driven mine 4 miles home so far, but very much noticed that too high foot rest. It's the only thing I don't like about the car. I'll have to look into getting rid of it too if it's just a case of taking out a foam insert.

I’m 6 foot 3 and manage OK. I have found it’s more comfortable having the seat a bit higher (so not as far back) actually aids comfort. Logics seems wrong but it works for me.

Also have a good wriggle to make sure you’re in the centre of the seat and not slightly skew on one of the bolstered side bits.

But agree the foot rest is not quite right.

It is just a foam shape but sadly to get to it the carpet will need cutting or pulling out. I am still going to give it ago.

Yeah, I'll not be cutting it, that's bodger behaviour, lol! Worse case a little trim removal, maybe the drivers seat, then I'll be able to slide under and get at the blighter

I have my seat almost as far back as possible and that seems to be the most comfortable driving position

My PFL MG5 is very comfortable but my daughter and son-in-law don't like the seats. The foot rest - is that a Face lift MG5 issue? No worries with mine.

I’m 5.7 and it fits me lovely it’s strange when buying a car you don’t really think how comfortable your going to be in a car until it’s to late lol

I bought a cushion for the seat and I can still feel the pressure point on my backside! At one stage I even thought there's an issue with my seat but the seat feels fine when I checked it

Have you tried a lumbar support pillow?
I have one as I have a common nerve issue where lumbar pressure travels down into my butt and legs

just moved across to a facelift. Used to have to use a cushion extender for much needed thigh support. Fingers crossed 150ml bringing it home, did'nt need the thigh cushion?. Changed the seats shape facelift?. or did i just have them in a different position? Whatever hope its not a coincidence

Yep. I had EXACTLY this issue. Left butt cheek. And I figured out what it was....

Years of driving a manual, my left leg was working the clutch. And now it has nothing to do. And I've had it placed flat on the footrest to the left of the pedals. And between the position of the rest, and my natural habit to keep my foot elevated instead of placing my heel on the ground, I was getting a PITA from it.
