Hi all

I am currently looking at booking a test drive for an MG4, returning to an EV (I had a Leaf before).

I have tried to find this information out but can't seem to find it anywhere, so I wonder if a current owner can confirm,,,

Is the cabin recon via the HVAC only available on the Trophy?

Also, does it allow you to cool this via aircon? This would be more useful for me as I'm in Spain and to be able to cool the car before a journey would be great. I just need to consider if it would be worth be extra cost over the LR SE...

Thanks in advance

In spain (europe) the Uk trophy is called the luxury and only the luxury has a heat pump. The UK trophy does not have a heat pump

Not a question about a heat pump I believe, I think the question is about using the remote HVAC to cool the car before travel from the app. I’ve not tried cooling just heating as we move into winter and I have the SE LR model.

As above ... in the app you enable remote AC control. (When on you can see HVAC in the app screen). Once turned on you can set the temperature and fan speed from the app via the said HVAC option.

Agreed, I this is a function of all models and just starts the climate control based on temperature, hence will cool as well as heat as relevant.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. A further question. Does it need to be plugged in to do this? My old (2017) leaf needed to be plugged in.

If it doesn’t need to be plugged could the car be locked whilst it’s cooling?

Particularly interested if this would be the case for an SE LR

Thanks again

All good for your desire I believe, covered in various threads already.
In short yes it works unplugged and locked.
There is a known bug where it fails while plugged in and not charging. MG have stated they are looking to resolve this though no end time.
