There are 2 different subject matters.
Autolock which as you describe comes with speed and allows normal exit using handles etc.when stopped. These are designed to open automatically in the event of a crash and are not car/manufacturer specific. The MG4 is not problematic in this area.
Then there is deadlock via alarm being set which was a software issue with key not recognised error on the MG4. The deadlock (Thatcham) is specifically designed to bar external access and internal opening and is not model or manufacture specific so it could lock people in when faulty and could happen to any vehicle with that system.
The MG4 has an emergency exit through the boot, other cars may have different methods but all need such an exit.
