Not all Dongles are the same. Many are Android systems in a box which present as an "iPhone" to the car but run apps that then present iPhone CarPlay or Android Auto to your phone in effect as a middleman relay. This can introduce delays to the response time for Audio control and map navigation. This Carlink 4.0 seems to do a good job although more expensive than underpowered eBay knock-offs.
