Hi,
I have just ordered a ZS long range, but one thing that didn't cross my mind, as I thought it was a given was, does my car come with a charging cable?

Also could anyone recommend a company for car mats.

Thanks

Rob

I think you are talking about a type 2 cable. I do not believe they do. I was lucky enough told of this before hand and got them to throw floor mats and cables In for free. I think because I had a little moan about delivery times. I have looked around and you can get cables for a lot less than MG charge.
With regards to floor mats to be honest in the past I have just gotten them from Halfords.

For rapid chargers you do not a cable but you are going to want to get a type 2 for supermarket charging etc..

Pa it does come with the slow granny charger.

Thanks, I might give them a ring as delivery is a bit vague, either September or October, and have my own moan. But I might wait until next month as they'll have included the sale in their quarterly figures and probably won't want to change them.

In all honesty I'd have expected them to tell me as I'm new to EV's, they never mentioned anything about charging

If you got it through the Affinity scheme then you will get a type 2 cable.
Worth asking them to throw one in but if you have already paid a deposit they may say no.

For car mats there are loads of sellers on ebay that do taylor Made for less than halfords generic ones

You don't get a type 2 cable with the car only a granny charger ( so called because its slow to change) has a 13 amp plug. You can sometimes get a cable and mats in the deal but maybe too late now. But worth a try. Lol

I wondered about the term ‘granny charger’ but assumed it was to facilitate charging your EV when visiting elderly rellies, who would be less likely to have a proper EV charger.
No ageism intended…….

When do get a charging lead make sure its a decent one , it needs to be 32amp. There are cheaper ones but they will either not allow 7kw charging or will burn out if they do.

I just had this discussion with MG in Bradford I pointed out that the MG site doesn't mention anything about it taking 20 hours to charge the car from a 3 pin socket and asked what their cancellation procedure was. They are now going to include a cable for free. The car was ordered a month ago and paid in full so I suppose they didn't have to do anything really.

They give you figures for 7kw, you couldn't work out that a charger supplying half that would take twice as long?

Yes of course I can. My point (which you missed) is that nowhere on the site or during the sale was it mentioned that I would need to purchase extra equipment to achieve the charging speeds listed. If they don't provide you with a type 2 cable as standard then they should list the speed you will actually achieve with the cable provided.

For clarity, I have had a 7kw Wallbox installed and expected to be able to use my new car with it.
