Charging port cover not closing

i even went to the effort of removing the engine cover on the weekend to see if i could lubricate the rear of the pin, but couldnt find anyway to get to the other side of the charge port without going to the effort of removing the bumper

I've just noticed that the warranty on the charge port door has been increased to THREE years. Until recently, it was only one year.

I've booked mine in for checking this week. (It doesn't unlock, so I removed my locking pin. I'll replace it prior to dropping it at the dealer, but not before taking the precaution of charging to 100%.)

We've JUST past the 3 years !!

Sadly ....has now FAILED.... Now the dam thing is STUCK SHUT. I note that it's now also ONE mouth out of warranty!...
Wondering how to open and instal the magnetic tape.

I had to pry mine open with a flat head screwdriver on one occasion - it did the trick and I avoided marking the plastic. Make sure the car is unlocked first of course.
