I did my first long journey this week (320 miles each direction) in my 2024 Trophy Connect SR so had to stop a number of times to recharge.
Despite choosing 150kW and 300kW charging points the car only charged a maximum of 42Kw, much of the time significantly less yet I read on some other posts that people are getting 80+kW. My battery varied between 13% and 35% when starting to charge but never got better than 42kw.
Is there some setting to make it quicker? It's really annoying to have to browse round service stations for nearly an hour delaying the already long journey while inhaling the awful stink of Greggs and McDonalds.

I suppose it depends on the charger. I used a Gridserve charger at Birmingham airport last year . Supposedly 60Kw best I got was 22Kw in my MG5 . Other chargers were giving me up to 49Kw depending on the season of course.
Haven't tried my ZS Trophy on rapid chargers yet 😊

Have a Long Range ZS 2023 on a recent tour the best seen was 84kw (car is rated for 100kw DC and 11kw AC) and was using Tesla super chargers etc. Found the sweet spot was the 75kw chargers the higher units 200+kw etc didn't charge much quicker and were dearer per kw. On AC get 9.9 kw at local 11kw chargers ... unsure of specs for SR

My own Long Range ZS will charge at a maximum of 94kw. I think your Short Range model chargers at max 76kw. The rate of charge you actually get depends on several factors. Temperature of the batteries, very cold is slower. How many cars are using your charger that you plugged into also affects it. Example: a 50kw charger with two cars using it only give 25kw per car at best & usually it's less than that. Same for 150kw charger. Split between two cars that's 75kw per car at best. There are other factors but those are common ones. Of course the car charge slows as the vehicle battery goes past 80% as it always takes longer to charge the last 20%. The charge rate falls.
