Cyberster - what we know so far

Had a quick sit in two Cybersters today.

I am 6′ 2″ I fitted in. The view was similar to a normal car with the sun visor down, not a problem and easy to live with.

Yes, that was what I was afraid of. They said they'd lowered it 1 inch but usually when this kind of thing is done it means that it is tight. Mmmm... probably kills my interest then.

Depends on upper torso height. Its liveable for sure. With the roof down it depends on how the air flows over the windshield.

Yes and two side ones on the doors

There are also upwards-facing sensors on the doors, to stop them hitting a low ceiling in a car park or smacking a passing pedestrian in the face.

I'm just imagining the door going up as if in slow motion and the pedestrian getting a hook like in the film and falling backwards onto the floor with a somersault...

Exactly. It's left me wondering what the handover will be like, etc. Although I have been reassured by MG UK that they will sort out delivery of my car on an exception basis if needs be.

MG UK Head Office have been excellent, and have now managed to change my order so that it can be fulfilled from the stock of cars sitting at Portbury available for despatch next week, rather than waiting for the next ship. All I had to do was change my colour choice.

It probably also explains why my dealer didn't seem to know anything about the Cyberster, as they haven't done the training etc. And also why they suddenly cancelled getting the showroom tour car. I just hope they do get their demonstrator Cyberster this week.

Red. Now changed to Inca Yellow.

Changed from Red to Inca Yellow. Inca Yellow was originally my preferred colour but it got vetoed by my wife! She's now coming around to liking the yellow

?. I’ve ordered grey with a red roof and hearing that may delay delivery. Just thinking whether to change mine too.

You should go for Red or Yellow. A lot of yellow orders apparently. The whites not really white. More beige.

The one I saw on Saturday, in the showroom, looked like very light Grey to me, bloody lovely though. Might look different again in the Sunshine. ???

If there are lots of orders for red and yellow won’t those be short or is that all they shipped ?

How have people contacted MG HQ for updates ?

There will be cancellations. My dealer stated

"Transport Delayed". We already knew from facebook. Also had 2 people ive seen cancel. So might be availability for someone else

Maybe the issues in the Suez Canal are delaying things, around January this year a lot of shipping stopped using that route which has added a couple of weeks delay.

I imagine they will prioritise the demonstrators.

Demonstrators cars. I believe have to be delivered first so customers can confirm after a test drive they want the car they ordered. If the customer cancels then MG keep the car and it goes back into stock. To then be sent to any dealer with a guaranteed customer order.
All these first ordered cars where I assume like my order subject to a successful test drive.
This is my understanding after talking earlier this week with the salesman who is looking after me.
