Hi all

So last week I had the pleasure of travelling in a Tesla (Lyft) while on holiday in the US.

One thing that I noticed was the camera view when indicating. Besides the obvious video quality difference, I noticed that the camera actually shows you what may be coming up besides you since the cameras face backwards.

Why do we get a useless view of the ground beside the car which is also pointed forwards?

Has this been discussed before?

The MG ZS EV has door mirrors with blind spot indication if a car is approaching you in your blind spot. The door mirrors are the best place for this as you can also see what is behind you elsewhere at the same time as knowing if something is coming.

Tesla has Blind Spot indication, but it’s on the video screen in the middle of the car on tm3 and tmY. It’s in the dashboard display behind the steering wheel in the tmS and tmX. Has anybody discussed how useless this is and why Tesla don’t put this where it should be in the door mirrors?

Ah, wait, it’s not because it’s a cost thing and Tesla build their cars to be as cheap as possible?

The SE does not have this. I was just pointing out that the preview you see on the screen is not a very useful angle for what it is supposed to be showing you really

I was just pointing out that I look in the door mirrors to see what is happening behind me :-)

The cameras built into the door mirrors of the MG ZS EV are for the 3D view, which they work well for.

It’s a pity the SE version doesn’t have blind spot indication, but you pays your money and you gets your choice.

You might note that you can buy two MG ZS EVs for the price of one Tesla, more if talking tmS or tmY. Again, you pays your money and you gets your choice.
