Just taken our MG4 LR across to France. Three observations:
1. Switching units to metric is easy and gives km/h and expresses efficiency as kWh per 100km instead of miles per kWh.
4 miles/kWh equates approx to 15.5 kWh /100 km, 4.5 to just under 14 and 5 miles/kWh to 12.5 kWh /100km.

2. Found my Shell card easiest of all to charge up with - touch to start and touch again to stop. We used a couple of "Bump" charging stations in car park U supermarkets. Also found a charger hidden at the back of one if those do-it-yourself car washes with the big blue elephant logo.

3. Amused to notice that on motorways the car's camera picked up the 90 and 70 speed signs for the off-slip; so the dashboard would flash 90 or 70 as I drove at a legal 110kph.

Pleased to have left Staffordshire on 100%, driven down to Poole ferry where they stuck an (EV) sticker on the windscreen prior to boarding, then topped up the battery south of Cherbourg. First hypermarket (Auchan) only has Tesla charger si left other half to shop whilst Zapmap guided me to a Powerdot charger. Had to scan a QR code etc to get going.

Just received invoice from Shell Recharge for charging up in France on 8th and 11th August, they will debit my CC in the next 2 weeks. Nice few weeks of credit!

You should have tried the IECharge, their prices are insanely low.
In late August their were at 0.33€/kWh now they are at 0.30€/kWh or even 0.25€/kWh when you use their app, and they also what they call "autocharge" (I don't know how other charging network call that), and it worked fine with my MG4, it identify with my car correctly and there is no weird delay.

They put their stations near substations usually and their tech is based around buying cheap electricity, storing it in batteries, hence the ridiculous prices and power. They usually have 2 stalls each with a 320kW and a 160kW.

My chargemap card doesn't work on it but my debit card works fine, but they do debit 20€ from the get go then reimburse it and debit the actual sum. Now I use the app and autocharge anyway.

And also a very nice feature of the stalls is that they give you your exact charging curve.

Auto-charge ... i.e. the way Tesla cars can just rock up to a supercharger, plug in and it all starts automatically. Fastned in the UK have introduced this method and it works fine with my MG4. :)

I use Fastned autocharge occasionally (not many round my way) but as far as I am concerned it's basically black magic
