Driving through a Ford

I can't find the post, but it wasn't so long ago, that somebody had bad water ingress into the battery. There was something about a plastic deflector in front of the vent missing, and water got in that way. MG wouldn't take any responsibility and an independant company pulled it apart, dried it out and fixed it.

It shouldn't happen, but it did. Somehow

I remember that post but I don't remember it being fixed... which is possible but at what cost + the car would probably get written off by insurance...

Another thing to bear in mind is that some posts about "MG problems" are not always ... well, quite truthful.. "no, I never touched the accelerator", "no, I only drive in Sahara" ... etc...

I have an idea that this is the thread on HV battery water ingress and vent passages.

yep that's it. I think the take away is don't drive through water if you can avoid it.
It’s worth noting that the warranty claim was denied due to damage.

Anecdotally, I’ve been through several fords in mine in the past couple years and I’ve nothing negative to report. Agree that it’s best avoided, but I think the message should be, if anything, that the risk is greater with an ICE vehicle.

In the comments attached to the video below, it suggest :-
"Officially, the MG ZS EV can drive through 40 cm high water. I would not go through higher water".
Not sure if this is 100% accurate, but the ZS EV in the video is certainly getting a lengthy soaking alright !.
