Hello everyone. Can someome tell me what the dull thud is coming from the right back of my car is when going over speedbumps. Doesnt happen everytime, mostly going downhill over speedbumps. Only 300 kilometers on the dash.

Edit: tried adding video. It is not working. Anyone know how to send

Edit: link from youtube

Thank you for any help

It will play directly in the forum.

Does the thud depend on speed and how high the car bounces on the suspension? It could be the polystyrene insert with the pump etc. under the boot floor taking off and landing.

Just a few kph, i am not coming to a complete stop, it sounds like its coming from outside the car. Will upload video to youtube

Is it when you hit the hump or when you leave it ?
I'm thinking mud flap catching on the way down.

Check the undertrays: both beneath the rear motor and the ones under the battery.

Also, one of the rear seats might not be firmly pushed back, or the seatbelt buckles might be leaning against the plastic trim

I checked, nothing wrong that I can see at least from a layman's perspective. To me it sounds like the shock or something is not connected to the car and after clearing the speedbump the car just slams down on the tires. Will try to get to the dealer as soon as possible, just wanted to know if anyone had experienced this before I do go. Don't really trust the dealers will do anything but say it's supposed to be like this and I will lose a day travelling there and back. I am on R21 and they are telling me that there have not been any new updates past that, so that shows how much they know.

I was experiencing this also. I discovered however it was the boot floor going over the very narrow but high speed bumps. The boot floor was lifting going over then slamming back down making this thud. I keep a storage box in my boot now for bits and bobs and it weighs it down preventing this.
Hopefully this might narrow it down for you.

That explains why I haven't experienced it. My boot floor is weighed down by two greyhounds ?

Took everything out, still does it. Only going over speed bumps downhill. Showed the video to a couple of mechanic friends, they all say it is the springs(hopefully i am translating that correctly) also just found out that my continetal tyres are shit in the rain. Slowing downhill actually bumped the back of the car to the side. Going uphill in the rain would spin the tyres where my old citroen c1 would have no problem. Weird
