Eco/Normal/Sports throttle

Just a quick question. Is the difference between Eco, Normal and sports, simple a matter of throttle response, sensitivity, or is there something else happening?
The steering will also firm up on the normal and sports settings too.

Other than what's been said above, I think it just sharpens up the response from eco > normal > sport. It doesn't put out any more power, it just gets you the same amount of power earlier (I see a torque/time graph in my head when I think abut this stuff!).

Funnily I tested this just this weekend.

While accelerating at a reasonable pace, in Normal power indicated was at approx 30%, I then flicked it to Eco and the power dropped to approx 25%.

These figures are quite approximate as I had one eye on the road and the other on the dials, but the drop off in power was noticeable as soon as I switched modes.

It's probably similar to this, changes pedal response.
