Have had my car for coming upto a month done 1600 miles and showing 68.9 mpg, which is great
. Have 2 major concerns demisting and twice now car has applied auto braking, once with my wife in the car and she freaked out!.Thankfully did not get rear ended, what is causing this issue and how to fix it , any idea's ?. Also been a few cold starts in the morning this week and front windscreen completely fogs up, had to pull off the road, what's the suggestions to deal with this ?. Thanks.
Otherwise love the car.

We have a different car (MG4), but the same issue: once in a while, it will "see" something and come to a shuddering halt. But ours has only ever done this with cruise on. And with cars (either moving or parked) on either or both sides of the road. It has never done this when there were no other vehicles in sight of it.

Were you (or your missus) using cruise when this happened?

My second car is a Subaru, also with pre-collision braking etc. and it does warn about collision sometimes, when I'm on the curve and the cars are parked on the side of the road. Although it works in few stages, first is warning, second light brake, and only at the end it brakes hard to a complete stop. For me it never went to a complete stop in such situation, because (I think) it knows that when I'm steering to the side, I'm gonna miss the car that it sees as an obstacle.
In MG didn't had situation to experience emergency braking yet. But it's not like an autopilot, it's just a driver aid system, so you have to be aware of the surrounding at all times.
Also, in both MG and Subaru, you can "override" emergency braking by applying throttle, then the car keeps going.
