EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

Where servicing and warranty data is not being recorded correctly, the dealers and MG are handling personal data so must comply with GDPR principles. I suspect if you start asking them for compliance and data officer details they might be more responsive as these type of requests will hit them in the wallet if they are found lacking.

I honestly think some of these dealers need to be named and shamed, or at least taken to account on these forums. I'm not suggesting slander, and one always needs concrete evidence for complaints ... then 'the truth without' is only fair to others, who need to know who they might avoid. At the same time, praise where due is equally fair to all, and should be equally promoted, in my mind.

I had a look through the dealer reviews last night actually and found Chorley MG Burnley seemed to get good reviews and they are only a little further away from me that my closest, useless, dealer so I think I'll be tying Chorley MG next time I need to visit a dealer.

I wish I'd spent a little time reviewing all the dealers around me before booking my first service. Lesson learned anyway.

I have been advised by my dealer that there is an LKA update available, it is going in for a service in April so it can be done then.
Does anybody know what it does? There has been talk of an update since Which the consumer mag castigated the violence of it!

Yes; I went through everything I could find on mgevs when researching local servicing, including the above forum for Perkins and others nearby - but as I noted there, my comment was the first for two years (in that forum thread) - so it's not always well used ... but nonetheless still very useful.

I still don't think it hurts to make appropriate observations elsewhere within the flow of other relevant forums where the same questions are asked.

Hi,
I just performed the SC077 upgrade along with updating all other ECUs via SIPS.

I took the car for a test drive on A and B roads, specifically choosing challenging sections for the LKA to handle. Previously, on these types of roads, LKA was practically useless and constantly deactivating, or even dangerous!

However, with the latest updates, I’ve noticed a real improvement in smoothness; the car was able to keep LKA/TJA on in areas where it previously disengaged. So this is definitely not just a placebo effect!

The first picture don't show that lka/tja modules are up to date? (Fdr,eps, fvcm)

Just in case : some dealers perform Reprogramming but skipped Configuration.
By doing that, update isn't complete. They have to do both updates or use One Press!

I know, my dealer did this. He did reprogramming but no configuration. How might it affect the car?

Even Chorley MG are not perfect, my friend (aka Tom's Man Shed) has had some pretty horrendous customer service with regards to leaks into the boot/carpets constantly wet for many months on his MG4.

Adding a few comments from my recent recall (UK) trip to TNS in Kings Lynn (who have been fine as a dealer). The LKA is much better, I've not noticed any change in TJA, which I hardly uise anyway, but there have been other things that have changed that I haven't seen mentioned. The left-hand four-way button action has changed. Up and down now move the set speed by 1 instead of 5, you need to hold the button up or down to get it to move in 5mph chunks. The display brightness now seems to be remembered between car usage. Which I would have thought is unrelated to the update, but hey ho, maybe something else was updated as well.

After SC077 I've noticed that regen level 3 doesn't seem as strong as previously. (The other things @JamesH65 mentions I got changed over a year ago via SCUK001). When "coasting" at high speed (e.g. 60 mph) I'd notice the regen go as high as 20% or more ... now it seems to only go to 17-18% as a max, until I start to press the brake pedal. Anyone else notice this?
