EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

I have been running with this update for a couple of months now. I deliberately have been driving with zero pre-flight changes, with LKA/ELK and AEB and speed limits detection on. I use ACC but not TJA.

My conclusions:

- My MG4 now works "properly" for the first time, I don't need a preflight.

- ACC is pretty good, still has the odd "wobble" but it is 95% of what it should be.

- Zero AEB false activations in this time. Better than previous cars.

- LKA/ELK is benign and I get some occasional beeping on each journey but it works as well now as any of the systems I have used on other cars.

- Speed limits detection detection is improved but still wrong too much of the time to be relied on. It is still missing some changes and picking up signs for adjacent roads more often that I'd like.

I am not particularly impressed by any of this, it is more of a basic minimum standard finally being available. Shows that MG get there in the end, but not quickly.

Same just jump in and set my custom mode and pull away. LKA only beeps if thinks you're going over the line and if you do it evasively turns you back. I had only one false positive with indicator on it beeped which I was a bit bemused at.

Last night I drove 300Km at night on cruise mode and I have to say, lane detection is VERY good. It didn't fail even once on secondary roads with barely blurred lines and barely any visibility.

(don't push it though, be careful, but it's reassuring knowing it).

EDIT: MG4 SE acquired in 2025, last update available in Spain.

Not sure if it happened before but I noticed today that when I washed the car with the wipers in 'service position' they didn't return to parked when I got in the car with the bonnet not latched.

LKA is supposed to 'beep' also before you cross the lane marker. Mine is a happy beeper, even with the indicator on...

Of course my MG does that too.

I have recorded it multiple times. Videos clearly prove the indicator is on before I go closer to the marker. Then the indicator sound disappears and the beep is heard and line gets a blue color. Next, the beep stops, lines are greyed, and the indicator sound returns. This only happens when returning to the lane after an overtake.

Interestingly, LKA also disables ACC. This happens multiple times per week. As an example, the car disabled ACC shortly after the left lane marker turned blue because a truck to the right steared too close to my car. When I checked the video, I could see I wasn't even on that lane marker.

Dealer has no intention so far to do anything.

I don't have any such issues, so it must be either a Trophy issue or something specific with your car. 🤷‍♂️

I've used ACC/TJA a lot recently so would likely have encountered such an issue if mine had it.

Today had a fair fright and whip lash from the front radar crash collision slamming on the brakes at 25/30mph to nearly a full stop with nothing in front of me and going round a small bend. Dangerous if it occurred and someone was behind me luckily there wasn't

And this is after you've had SC077 software update?

That would probably be more related to image/shape recognition using the camera as camera function has improved.
Unless a generic recalibration was applied to all sensors after the update...
