You were selling it well until you mentioned “ brick”
If you ever want a plane flight that will make all other plane flights seem a bit "ah yeah but" ....... You need to go up in a Transavia Air Truck flown by a contract ag pilot ......
I'll set the picture, the passenger sits in the back of the fibreglass bug shaped body and looks backwards, behind you is a hopper that holds 1 ton of superphosphate, but the plane can either carry you in the back or the ton of super or a ton of spray chemical and the pump sits in the back where you are sitting.
Up front is a Continental flat 6 cyl that develops 350hp, the pilot virtually sits in top of that, and just back a bit.
It can take off in the length of the average house driveway and climb hanging on the prop. You can't see where you are going, but you can see what you are flying away from ...... like dive bombing the house of someone who p#ssed off the pilot at the pub the night before ....... at 6am and you have barely woken up after being called out at the last min to drive the aircraft loader ..... and you remember you were going drink for drink with the locals and the pilot that is up front .... and you don't feel well
You then remember that the very plane you are flying in is due for a service .... possibly over due, and you work some of your time assisting the engineer who signs the paperwork .... as in, you do the work, he does the paperwork ..... the rest of the time you are the mechanic that keeps all the fleet of trucks, tractors, air craft loaders, cars, small equipment use around the farm, the bucket loader and .... yeah, you are it really, you keep everything going ......
The next thing is a splutter and you aren't sure if the pilot is playing games and pulling a full lean burn or the twin plugs in one of the cyl is lead fouled ..... and you know the plane has a 30 deg glide angle into a head wind ..... if that motor stops .... at least you will see the sky as the last thing you remember ......
Here is what they looked like
