I'm still waiting for my engine aswell.
Still running around in the truck currently spending £100 on diesel every three days.
Wish I just bought the car now.

Well here we are in May and the anniversary of my getting the MG5 passed by on the 6th.
Had two messages from the repairers on the 4th and 9th saying the car is "in Strip" so I'm hoping this means that all the parts have finally arrived.
Hopefully they haven't found anything else they need parts for during this Strip.
Lease company is now annoying me with emails saying it's due its first service and I should book it in.
Sometimes you really want to slap some people.

Apparently my car is now in "Panel" being repaired, however, it's still awaiting delivery of a suspension mounting bolt from China and even when that is fixed an engineer has to come in from MG to reinitialise all the electrics and carry out software updates. The 18th will be the six month anniversary of the accident. I bet the "Stolen" Corsa that hit me and lost most of its front end was written off and replaced in weeks. Where's the justice? Six months of paying petrol in a courtesy car, which also happens to be bloomin' Corsa, after paying to go electric to avoid paying for petrol. The irony!

Well they announced on 27th June that the car went into paint. WooHoo thinks I must be the final stage, No on the 4th July they said it was still in paint awaiting parts. Apparently when it got to paint, they found other things wrong and have had to order more parts. Now the message has reverted back to awaiting parts (not in paint). Latest estimate for the parts is 8th August, Mid-August and they will have had the car longer than I've had it on the road.

Where are you having the work done?
Mine was at Richmond Portsmouth for 5 weeks the first time then back for another three andxagain for another two. Just waiting for a plastic clip for the mudflap now.

A repairer appointed by the insurance company, not an MG garage or specialist, unfortunately being a lease, the leasing company pt it wherever they could. It took them four garages before this one would even take it.

3 months wait for a front windscreen, which was cracked in May. Just heard today that it has finally arrived.

They don't advertise their spares issue when you order one. Off the forecourt and money in the bank, ask if they could order the two missing bits and request them airmailed instead of waiting for a shipping container and they look at you as if you've invented a wheel!

Front windscreen fitted today by National Windscreens. Fitter said shouldn't need to get the camera re-calibrated, that was just a money making scam! Will wait until its first service. Great & efficient service by National Windscreens, repaired within the hour. He gets an average of 6 windscreens/day to replace (not all MG!). You'd have thought by now MG would keep a few in stock.

1st of September and still no car, apparently waiting for spares still, this time they say it is a Chrome bumper insert, never mentioned before. I've informed the lease company that as the repairers have had the car longer than I've had it to drive, I've finally had enough and to cancel the lease. Also told them as I have paid 8 month payments on a car I've not had, that I refuse to pay a cancellation fee. I have also had the case reported to the Trading Standards for their investigation. After not hearing from the leasing company for over a month, suddenly I get an immediate email back only to tell me they'll look into it (again).

Completely put me off having an MG again. Shame because the car, when I had it, was great.

Parts were due to arrive on 22nd, didn't now they say they're due on the 30th, shall I hold my breath, not a chance. Had an email from my third account manager on the 2nd Sep basically telling me what has happened over the time period, as if I didn't know and to expect a call from their Customer Resolutions Team to discuss my options.
What a surprise not heard a thing from them since. "Customer Relations" indeed. Obviously the lets tell him this and see how long we can keep him hanging on again for the parts date to pass.
Miffed.

Bad to worse, 06 Oct 22 advised by the lease company that the repair to my car is a "fault claim" against my insurance, apparently if you're hit by someone who has "stolen" a vehicle and absconded from the seen, it is not covered by the "owners" insurance as it is them that's insured not the car.

01 Nov 22 still no sign of my MG5. Apparently went from the repairers to Richmond MG Dealership in Portsmouth for the following:

• Reconnect the High Voltage battery,
• Reconnect the hand brake motors,
• Reconnect the boot motors,
• Reconnect the steering column,
• Bleed brakes, and,
• Wheel Alignment

On the 22 Nov 22 after another chasing email I'm told they have since found other items that still require work i.e. replace the coolant, as well as an engine mount part ordered expected in 5 days, after which a short road test, a wash and quality check and it will be returned to me.

05 Dec 22, no car, no further updates from Lease company and now to top it all I'm getting the privilege of being able to pay an insurance excess and lose no-claims if I want to get a private car of my own.

Never mind, one more month and the car will have been gone a year, kept the mileage down to 8K, If I decide to pay the 4 month payment next month, to get out of the contract, they'll be selling a nice low miler to someone.

Regarding the "fault claim", challenge this -- you can make a claim against an untraced driver with the Motor Insurers Bureau, your insurance should have done this but if they haven't then look here:

Small rear end shunt beginning October, cracked bumper and a dent in the boot. Fully driveable so after insurer set up repair sent in photos warning them parts would be slow.

Kept the car for 2 weeks before body shop was promised parts in "tomorrow". At the end of 3 weeks and being pestered by the hire company for the hire to start so told them to deliver the loan car. That sat on the drive for a week until the repair company were promised the part "tonight" so told them to collect the MG.

Another 2 weeks before I got the email to tell me all parts were "now in" and the MG was going into the paint shop on Friday week before last (25th). Hadn't heard anything by Tuesday so checked the website tool of the insurer (DL) for the status of the repair to find the car had been finished on the 25th . Rang the repairer to get an explanation as the hire company wanted their car back Friday, the job sheet "hadn't been passed up to the office" and they would deliver the car Thursday PM as I was going to be out AM. Got home just before lunch to find the car on the drive, presumably they use a different clock.

Thanks for the info on untraced driver, I will approach the insurers to find out why they haven't at least looked into this.

You'll find it's because they don't really care whether it's marked against you or marked against the MIB; the insurance industry profits anyway!

With my previous car I had a car hit me in the snow. The car was new to him but we exchanged details. Informed the insurance company who then advised that the car wasn't covered, uninsured driver scheme kicked in and repair all done with no loss of no claims.

My conversation with the other driver gave me enough info to identify him and where he worked in Southampton at a gym. Passed that on to LV, "great, we can charge him for the repair" was the reply. They could of course also inform the police.

Quite quick compared to mine, lucky you

Obviously it will also depend on the parts required, I would hope that they have plenty of rear over bumpers in stock. As there is only 4 colours they may even have them pre painted.
