Hey all, I picked up my 9 month old MG4 Extended Range and drove it 90 miles home yesterday...listening to podcasts from my plugged in phone all the way.

When I got home and unplugged my phone I noticed that the radio wasn't working. I dug about looking for a way to set the DAB to rescan and eventually found a thread saying I'd have to disconnect the 12V battery...weird but OK, I'm comfortable working on cars. Disconnected the battery, waited 15 minutes and plugged it back in and sure enough I have more local stations, and a ton of errors on the car. Another search and the right/left full lock trick found and they're all gone, but I'm still missing a bunch of DAB stations that I know are available here, so I thought I'd just do a factory reset from the Settings on the Infotainment console

Once the system came back on again I set the language, agreed to the Ts&Cs and then, having unbound the car in iSMART, reconnected it.

All good, but now I can't get out of that screen. The touch button on the right are all greyed out and clicking the physical home button does nothing. If I hold the physical home Botton down for 10 seconds the console resets and I'm back to the Welcome screen and then setting the language etc again. Help!?!?

I fell for this one. The button you need is off the bottom of the screen. The window will scroll if you swipe up from the bottom.
No promises, but worked for me.

The screen doesn't move when I swipe up on that screen. I get some grey animation like I'm pulling the screen that way but it doesn't actually move. Tried left and right too. The only thing that changes it is pulling down which does bring up the AC controls

This is what I can see

Have spoken to the 'local' dealer and their specialist is in tomorrow morning. He said it sounds like the car is in pre-delivery mode (I haven't told them about disconnecting the battery or doing the reset in case it voids some warranty!) and they can look at it tomorrow. The think it might be something simple that won't require actually booking in for a repair

(Pre)Delivery mode is a setting in the Engineering menu as I recall. A search of this board will yield info on how to access that menu. (The method depends on your model and car's age).

I got the same issue after dealer installed R63 but without updating MCU FICM. To fix iSMART and Weather issues, I reset infotainment but after startup, screen stay gray and I couldn't do anything.
I use shorcut access (swipe down from left or right) and use the setting icon to perform a new reset from engeneering menu. It fixed everything for me

I’ve tried swiping down from the screen I posted and other than the middle to bring up the AC it did nothing. Fingers crossed the dealer can sort it quick tomorrow, and then I’ll start asking questions about the engineering menus ;-)

So you don't have this screen with the tiny "settings" button?
When mine was stuck in startup like you, it was the only way to access Settings to perform a factory reset

OK, tried it again after powering the car off and on and resigning in…again, and a swipe down from the edge does get me the shortcuts screen and has a setting button.

But a factory reset is what got me here in the first place…I guess it can’t make it worse to do it again?!?

OK, so did another factory reset, same issue did the binding thing to the smart app, same problem that I have the iSMART screen, and now know that I can get to the shortcuts and settings, but still nothing else.

However I realised when I unbound the car it skipped the activation screen so I pressed and held the home button to restart the console, did the welcome, set languages and activations, and then when it got to the bone screen I noticed there was a skip button. Well, the car’s already bound so I pressed skip…and I got another screen I’d not seen before asking me to confirm a couple of other settings, and once I did that the Infotainment system appeared!

So…the fix was to skip the binding screen so that I could complete the startup settings?!?

Try to reset from engineering menu.
I remember what I have done: I reset and reinstalled R63 to fix this
