First 'fight' with a Tesla driver ...

Why would you have a fight and be awkward. The most prolific network and half the price of the ionity across the way at McDonalds Cribbs causeway.
Don’t be a ****. Adoption of EV relies on collaboration and respectful use of the charging network.

We don’t need a Trump hero here thanks.
It's almost like you didn't read my post and just responded to the thread header.
Note the word accidentally and phrase error of my ways...

A couple of interesting posts on Tesla motors club wiki:

This suggests the 20 sites opened to all on 29th of April this year have until the 29th of April next year to comply and so can stay open till then. Good news for some if true.

Then yesterday:

I think it's saying older units will be upgraded over the next year and may even stay open to all in the mean time. Time will tell.
Thanks again for this. I've read through in detail and my read is:
  • The sites that have already shut are the sites that opened a long time ago to non-Tesla users.
  • As you say, the 20 sites that opened in 29th April have until 29th April 2025 to comply.
  • Tesla plan to retrofit new payment terminals to their V2/V3 charger installations during 2025. It does not sound like they plan to upgrade them to V4, although that may happen over time.

So, depending on when these retrofits go ahead, we will likely get some further closures in April and then sites slowly coming back to public use as they are upgraded.

It wasn't clear from what I read if this will apply to all V2/V3 sites, so anyone's guess whether we'll get some further existing sites switch to non-Teslas that have never been publically available before.

I'm not too concerned, there's a good spread of chargers in most places now and I've never struggled to charge on any long trip in the last 2 years.

I did read a post somewhere that suggested Tesla are not able to open any of them that are in Welcome Break services, as it would reduce the profits from Welcome Breaks own chargers. This takes out a large number of the on-line service stations 🙁.

As you say, not a major problem nowadays, just a slight cost and convenience issue.

Gotta give Tesla owners some benefit I guess 😂

I thought Eurocentral had gone, but I actually went there to have dinner at the hotel and the chargers are covered by dust sheets so obviously they're showing as not available. Inverness, Aviemore, Perth and Fort William are showing as available. These have all been open since November last year, and Aviemore for longer than that.

On 24th November all the chargers at Trentham Gardens were open to non-Teslas, V3s and V4s alike.

Had this incident with a Tesla the other day. Guess they thought nothing would match them off the line. Does show how rubbish the brakes were as they overshot the red light.

Excellent!

I love that sort of thing.

Tesla chappie quite obviously not looking past the end of his bonnet!🤣
