Last night gave the car its first charge. I have a 3 phase Morec 11kw box , plugged in and was monitoring every hour, the morec box gives you a battery temperature display. At the start temp was 28c and charging 10.2 kw after a hour 10.2 kw and 60 c , later 10.2kw and 62.2c. I was putting in 33kw from 29% to 80 % around 3.5 hours.
During this time the cars was making slight ticking noises as though a pump was running but no cooling fans came on. The start air temp was around 28c and in the morning 18c the battery temp this morning was 35c. During charging I put my hand under the car and there was no excess heat, apart from the box , which may be giving a false reading, how would you know what the temperature is and if the BMS is doing its job. There were no alert readings and the car seems perfectly happy so I,m assuming the readings are wrong but the start and finish readings seem to be acceptable. Thoughts anyone!
