Front plastic grille

Forth hand wash and just noticed a hole cut in nearside of front plastic grill, 4 grooves in from right. Any ideas?

Could you post a picture? Would help us understand what you mean.

No idea. Maybe a plastic cover has fallen off? I don't really care about it, only noticed it when I looked.
