So. MG4. FWD or RWD ? 🤔.
As far as I'm aware it's RWD.

Until yesterday when I visited a friend, reversed up their gravel drive up a reasonable incline. Took it easy so as to not disturb the gravel too much. Was quite pleased with the way it was going until the front wheels got on the gravel. Gently gunned it a bit as it was all going in the right direction and the front wheels span, clearing the gravel under them. Got out and had a look. No problem under the rears, clear of gravel under the fronts 🤔.
So, either a) I've got the only special edition front wheel drive MG4 in existence, b) it does some insane electric jiggery-pokery and changes depending on direction of travel 🤪, or c) you tell me ? Please 🙏🤷.

Unless your are in reverse, which is a quite ridiculous ommission on SAIC's part!!!
Yeah, you'd think they'd have mentioned it really 🤔😂

Well, an SE LR is not front wheel drive, that's for sure :)
Just for a moment. All the 'symptoms' indicated it was, hence my query.
I'm not arguing for. Just confirming what I already knew. Weird though 🤪

All I can think of is that, the rears span and gripped and reversed two metres so the skid marks ended up under the fronts. Or that you are having a flashback to the last time, when you were in the Kia. :D
I was thinking aliens'd had something to do with it. Do prefer the totally unique FWD model though 😁👍

Might be better to try snow mode rather than 'gunning' it. The MG4 is definitely rear wheel drive only as I managed to dig myself into a rut on the grass outside my garage (slight slope after heavy rain). Extracted myself with snow mode and a bit of 'rocking'. Garage door absolutely covered in mud.

Porsche's been putting four-wheel drive into 911s since 1989. It's got more sophisticated over the years, with adaptive torque control which ebbs and flows the drive between the axles that can best deploy it. Since 1995, all 911 Turbos have been 4WD.

Lamborghini anyone?
All-wheel-drive technology filtered down originally into the Lamborghini Diablo.

apart from the Xpower, which car with a rear mounted engine has ever been FWD? - that's right, none.
At the risk of being pedantic there have been several older cars which have had this layout, so the answer isn't none

Below is one and there are more
