Hello there, hope you're all well.
Got my Zs for 13 months now , done 37k miles. Was wondering if someone has change the oil on a gear reduction box ? There is not mention of this on the service booklet, but saw a video of someone doing it on a Niro ev and the old oil looks very black an dirty.
Anyway I appreciate your comments.
Regards.

It's the same stuff discussed in this thread:

I'm not aware of any Eu supplier.

My dealer changed the oil during year 4 annual service without being asked.
So it must be part of the service plan.

You are absolutely bang on Tim.
I have just checked the MG dealer service schedule "tick sheet" from my recent 2 year service.
Item 26 on the list states :- "Check drive transmission oil level, top up as necessary".
Item 27 on the list sates :- "REPLACE drive transmission fluid - every 60,000 miles OR four years, which ever arrives first.
Therefore it would appear that if @julianNino is covering about 37,000 miles in 18 months, then it is likely that the car will hit the 60,000 miles before reaching 4 years old anyway.

48 k in 15 months exactly..

I’ve just had this experience in real life. My ZS LR SE from Nov 22 is in for service today with 45k miles on it. Garage wanted to change the transmission oil as it is due at 4 year service. I queried because car is clearly NOT 4 years old and also I didn’t think it has a transmission as such (electric motors innit).

It has been reassuring to see this thread. Thanks guys for blazing the way.

When they refer the transmission fluid, I think they maybe talking about replacing the oil used to lubricate the reduction gear, which is called up on the MG service schedule.
It states 4 years or 60,000 miles ( which ever arrives first ) in your case, neither one of these is applicable ??.
