Hi all,

I have a 2023 MG ZE EV long range, when I am stopped in traffic at a standstill the power % still increases on the dashboard, I normally pop it into park mode to stop it.

When I left it in for a service a few weeks ago, they gave me a 2024 MG ZS EV long range however the power % went to 0% whenever I came to a standstill.

Just wondering if this is a setting ??

same with mine, power hoovers around 1% (from memory) when auto-hold engages but sometimes it goes to 0. Haven't paid attention what happens when ... Doesn't bother me as I only use auto-hold when I know I'll be moving shortly.

My guess is that it was most likely done on purpose to help with hill start.

I have a 2022 LR trophy & found putting brake harder to floor engages green P on dashboard & power always says 0%. Ideas why it might still show power used....perhaps not hard enough on brake, auto hold isn't properly engaged or there's a software update??

Sometimes as you say it doesn’t show 0% when stopped but not on auto hold. I find that the percentage is a bit arbitrary. If you look at the amps, they don't always seem to line up to the same percentage each time at each speed. But when stopped not on auto hold the amps are at or near zero so the motor isn't necessarily pushing as implied (AC Radio etc use 2-8 amps in my experience). But I always use the auto hold so it shows zero and can rest my feet

My guess is it's to do with terrain. if the car is on a level surface, then the motor doesnt have to work to keep the car still. If you are on a slight incline however, then the motor will have to counteract the car's tendency to roll down the incline. The steeper the incline, the more power it will need.

When I did my test drive before I bought the car the test car always showed 1% when stopped on the footbrake. My car always shows 0%.

so, went for a 45-min city drive and stopped 5 times (yes, this time I counted) in traffic, each time with auto-hold and each time it was 0% power. so it's not always that it shows 1% power when under auto-hold but to be honest, doesn't bother me.
mine is 2022 Trophy SR

EDIT: over the past few days, it was always on 0% when I stopped but I do remember previously seeing 1% and thinking why ...?

I have 2023 ZS LR too. I press brake pedal harder for reducing power consumption after car is completely stopped.

I believe car is trying to creep forward when brake is gently pressed.

I notice that happening when Auto-hold is not switched on.
Thanks for the comment. I did disable auto hold. I normally parked on steep down hill driveway. It is scary to use accelerator to move. I need to "learn" controlling of auto hold?

Yes, I use that in heavy traffic sometimes or when parking in a tight spot and it's great, you can move slowly forward, slower that the car would normally go on it's own on "idle". But, it's a fine balance, you can feel when the car stops and when it's still moving

Turn on Auto-hold and enjoy the ride.

2023 ZS SR here, If I press the brake enough to enter the "green P" mode, the power consumed is 0%, however, if I do not do that it may go around 1-3% because of course the car is still trying to move forward, I think that this is the expected behaviour.

Our ZS EV Gen2 behaves in the very same way.
Light pressure on the footbrake will display a small percentage of power drawn, but if you apply more pressure to the footbrake, the power draw will hit zero.
