Great day out with your MG? Post up a picture ?

Set off in the Magnette yesterday but ended up in Linlithgow station car park three miles away. Bought a return ticket to Auld Reekie for £6.90 return. Couldn’t have parked there anyway but left the train minutes later in the very heart of the city. Wandered aimlessly for a while before having a Macwrap.
Continuing my journey, I found the Scott monument starting to glow purple from all the Christmas market construction around its feet.

Heading back, I found I couldn’t use my cheapo pensioner’s special basic day return ticket until the clock passed 18:15. So I had to retrace a bunch of steps and buy a coffee.
The first available train was at 18:40 so I was home again about 19:30 after a grand escape.
Note - very few watts were disturbed during this trip 🤩

Gom he says one eighty
Waze says that’s just fine
Green Welly is seventy miles
The forecast, cool but sublime
So I’ll be out to lunch in a mo’
Where mountains begin to unfold
For roast beef potatoes and veg

Well I’ve made it to Tyndrum
The weather’s real fine
Near traffic free miles
In that Magnette of mine
The roast beef is really fantastic
But the rest is harder to thole
Since the tatties ‘n veg didn’t show
The roast beef was served in a roll 😱

Stop Press.
Green Welly Stop in Tyndrum are having the car park upgraded. Hope it’ll include more / cheaper chargers ?????

Future days out wil be without the Magnette I’m afraid. I’ve forsaken her for another but not an MG this time. The MG 5 has been a super vehicle and has served well for near 33,000 miles.
For the replacement I’ve reverted to a former love-
A Citroen Berlingo Multispace as seen below. This one’s electric with 212 miles range to aim at so a bit down on the MG but with 6000 chargers reportedly now in Scotland surely I’ll find some power to keep rolling ? It’s been getting easier over the three years with the Magnette and before that with the first ev, the ZS.
I’ve got a space saver spare wheel kit which I’ll sell as it’s too wee for the new car but I’ll advertise that next week.
So, the new machine 🤩 I ordered green and it has turned up in blue but I really struggled to choose anyway so I’m happy.

Oh, and you’ll notice it’s the Xtr version - but as I’m fitting it out as a mini camper, I’ll keep it’s lunch control feature in abeyance in case the induction hob gives off any vibrations 🤣🤣

How will I know about the great places to visit if I don't have Archev posting about them? Also, I want all the low-down on the new vehicle's conversion to the campervan-for-one and how the facilities work.

Does that mean the roof tent, acquired so recently, is redundant?

Och I’ll still bore folk with my travel tales and plans and look forward to the odd meet up round the country if only to repay my debts on the grand Applecross fish supper.
The Citroen has roof bars so I may still use the lower floor as lounge / kitchen and the upper floor as the bedroom, at least initially.
Still unsure about swapping vehicles with Daughter so she can use the camper. I think her ex scared her off automatic cars years ago and her work mates and walking buddies seem to be DM Dodoes which is strange as they’re building a wind farm. So that’s a work in progress.
When’s the great bicycle homecoming taking place ? And what are you thinking about the white MG4 ?

A couple of pics of the inside of the Citroen showing the layout before I start (in fact before I even get it - that happens Tuesday/ Wednesday once they pdi it and upload any new stories to its electronics. Then I must investigate a frunk - the under bonnet empty volume is mahoosive. Then a spare tyre will be next and then ……???
