Heated seat thermostat

Firstly - I love the heated seats. They heat up fast and are really warm. However I wondered if there was a thermostat or a way to set the temperature a little lower as they can get quite warm if left on. I’ve found I have to cycle them on/off/on/off to regulate the temperature and avoid my tush getting too hot.
 
I think I read somewhere they heat up to 40 deg C, whether they are thermostatically controlled or not or if the 40 deg C figure is just the max heat and they stay at max, I don't know. I agree though they are a bit too warm. Maybe they need a resistor in the circuit somewhere.
 
They eventually turn off after 20-30 minutes and you have to reactive them (I find this deeply irritating as I have degenerative osteoarthritis in my spine and the heated seats are a life saver)
