Hi

I am a new owner of MG ZVS, from Shanghai China. yes the manufacturer base.

MG is not a popular brand here in Shanghai, I bought this one because of 3 reasons:

1. license registration plate.
for traditional car runs gas, the license plate is so hot and you have to bid one. the bid price is about 90,000 RMB.
6.4RMB=1US$
for electrical cars, you can get the license plate for free.
2. low price

My MG EZS is localsales type, It is indeed same as MG ZS EV.
I got an EZS plus version, without seat heater. after 30,000 RMB discount, Total landing price is 113,000 RMB = 17,600 USD. Warranty for battery and e-motor is 8 years 120,000 KM.

Reference cost for Tesla Model 3 =235,900 RMB = 36,800 USD
Volvo XC40 EV = 286,000 RMB = 44,600 USD

3. size and look

There are other EV had larger battery and life warranty. For example BYD e2. But looks not so nice.

Hi and welcome to the MGEVs forum Dan Sun, I hope you enjoy your new car the new upgraded ZS has only recently been released to the UK market and as far as I know no one has one on the road just yet, but will very soon, it looks very good with many people showing interest in the new up lifted model, because of the bigger battery which gives it more range.

Hi

It is still the old type with 44kwh battery, not new one.

Personally I think the new appearance is not good as old one.

Yes, I agree that the new model is not good looking.
I'm reluctant to purchase an ugly car, although I accept beauty lies with the beholder.

Welcome, it will be interesting to hear from someone where the car is made

Welcome Dan Sun. I'm interested to hear that the MG ZS EV isn't very popular in Shanghai considering the even better price there as well as all the reasons that we are happy with it.

I notice that your info panel is showing the time at lower left rather than the remaining range. It looks like you might be due an update which will also correct the BMS.

Less than £13,000! I wonder how many stops for charging I'd need if I flew over for one and drove it back???

the car was produced in June 2021, is there any update since June? how to get updated? DIY or ask the dealer to make the patch?

it is a domestic model, we (China) drive on right side of the road, opposite to UK, so you can not get an identical one and drive it in UK.

Yes good to see you on here. Be very good to have your views on the ZS EV, and how China is regarding the new form of transport..:)
China set goal that new energy car will be 40% in 10 years. this is a very aggressive target I will say.

I had mine updated before June so I'm surprised yours didn't have it already. There may be different updates in different countries. It is handy having the remaining range always displayed and I gather the other features updated improve the charging and total range.
I'd definitely ask the dealer.
