This MG ZS EV is bought in October 2022 in Thailand. In November 2024 it was taken to the MG workshop for service. One week before that the backup warning system had stopped to work so we mentioned the problem to the service people. Then they say, we will not repair that under the warranty, you have to pay for that and it will cost 3000 Baht. We ask why. Then they say, in September 2023 the car was in to Nissan for a repair of the back of the car, so that could have made this problem to come. But we say, that was 14 months ago before the problem came in november 2023. But the staff answered, the problem can come later. Why the car was repaired at Nissan was because MG at our place does not have metal and paint service. When I checked what the the problem was with the car why it have to be repaired. The was a little scratch in the bumper on the left side behind the left rear wheel. And there was also a small paint damage on the right rear door. The workshop repainted the bumper and the right rear door. So there were no damage even close to the sensors in alarm system. And I don't think that a problem with a sensor should make the alarm system to stop working. We also think that the staff didn't treat us nice when they told us we have to pay for the repair. After that I wrote a letter to MG Thailand and complaind about that we should not have warranty repair for this problem and the bad treatment of the staff. What happened after that. They didn't answered my letter, instead they called my wife. They told her, that we could leave the car for a whole day, not for repair, they should look at the problem. That means they still think that the repair 14 months before was the cause to the problem. I think like this, a problem like this must come from the electronic unit that handle this system and that is not situated in the back of the car. Do anyone here have the knowledge about the backup warning system how it is made in this car?
