Hi can anybody tell me why my MGEV4 now only reaches 186 miles when fully charged when it was 215 miles. Its only 2 months old

Apparently ICE cars give down to 15% less range in cold weather compared to summer. The same is true in an EV with a bit extra loss from heaters or A/C. When you need the range dress very warm and minimise use of heating, also program the battery to pre heat before disconnecting at home.

ICE cars give even less range when you use the brakes too, they cant put the energy back into the fuel tank

My understanding is that range predictions are set according to the driving mode, the A/c being on/off and driving style (boy racer v driving to church. If all ICE vehicles did the same we’d have less problems adapting. Drove a Renault in Scotland recently that changes is range prediction quite significantly in response to the current driving conditions.
