How are everyones batteries doing? (Fairer weather range thread)

My SE LR indicates around 230 fully charged- but 70% of the driving is 60mph dual carriageway and countryside. Its not thrashed neither is it driven for economy. Aircon is always on

I did a fairly long trip yesterday afternoon/evening/this morning. I burned through 99% of battery capacity in just over 24 hours, but thanks to a type 2 charger in the car park where I was parked to go to the theatre in the evening, I had an extra 25% to play with.

I was basically pootling. At first an injured shoulder prevented me going as fast as I usually do on my way to Glasgow, and I arrived there with 75% charge after 50 miles. That's where I got my top-up, the type 2 filled the battery to 100% (and didn't charge me, thanks to a fault on the charger!) Late evening I was driving a road I haven't driven much in recent years in the dark, and most of it was cross country.

This morning a ferry crossing to Cumbrae where it's seldom possible to go over about 50, anywhere. I did a bit of scenery-taking-in pootling at pretty low speeds. Back to the mainland in the afternoon, and again slow, because the motorway section of the drive was badly snarled with traffic for some reason. Once in sight of home I wasn't in a hurry and took a detour along some more country roads to pick something up about 12 miles away. I ended with 26% on the battery.

So, a couple of hundred miles of pootling around, lots of slow driving, although I did manage to open it up once or twice. And I had the heating on a bit in the late evening, and then the aircon on most of today.

My car has just finished recharging to 100% and it informs me that its range is 220 miles. So that's what I seem to have to do to get the advertised range on the SR. Probably not going to happen very often, TBH.

Yes, getting the advertised range requires a very sedate driving style, but that is normal for WLTP range as the driving scenarios are not at all realistic in the testing.

The roads by me must be slower as I’m at 89% and displaying the WLTP and that’s before I stick it into ECO.

To be fair I careful drive to make sure my battery lasts until I return to work after the weekend. I have already done about 24 miles to get it to the 89%

Probably your driving style and/or the roads you drive on. Range massively increases if you keep it to low speeds.

Yes the limit from work to home is 50 and country roads so definitely in my favour for commuting.

Also handy thing I have noticed on Google Maps and Waze also they have electric car modes so as well as showing shortest or fastest route they also suggest the most energy efficient route. Which is nice to know.

I did a test drive today in a 4 SE prior to ordering a Trophy and achieved 5.2m/kWh over a 16 mile journey where my current Gen 1 ZS achieved 3.9m/kWh.
I started it fully charged with 278 miles on the GOM and ended with 273, so the 16 mile journey only used 5 miles, very impressed with the efficiency.
FWIW I had regen set at 3 for the first half of the journey and 2 for the second, didn't seem to make much difference on economy but the car feels smoother in 2.
