I think it's being used as a bit of generic terminology though it does relate only to VAG cars AFAIK.
Thank you @IanMG and @Alb for pointing this out.Isn't VCDS for VW vehicles only?
Maybe you know something that would help us all?
VAG, VCDS, OVMS, OBD, SOH . . . This is a dyslexic's nightmare.Thank you @IanMG and @Alb for pointing this out.
After owning many previous VAG vehicles over the years, I am getting my VCDS ( VAG ) mixed up with the OVMS system that can be used, on some MG's ( in conjunction with a OBD dongle ) to investigate HV battery SOH and firmware numbers I believe.
I think somebody has / had one of these items for sale on the forum recently ???.
It's still hard shaking of some of my previous VAG habits even now !.
My late farther once said to me :- "The man that does NOT make any mistakes, does no work".
How true he was.
Sorry - I do totally understand why this appears to be a lot of old gobbledygook !.VAG, VCDS, OVMS, OBD, SOH . . . This is a dyslexic's nightmare.(Anyone care to fill in the missing letters?)
Please don't apologise! I asked the question hoping that you or someone had found a program that worked for the 2022 Facelift MG ZS Ev cars!Sorry - I do totally understand why this appears to be a lot of old gobbledygook !.
Here is a brief breakdown of the terms.
VAG - pretty simple, is the VW / Audi / Group.
VCDS - VCDS stands for VAG-COM Diagnostic System. As insinuated by the name,
OVMS - The Open Vehicle Monitoring System allows a user to connect to the CAN bus in a vehicle so that the user can view and monitor several parameters of vehicle operation, such as state of battery charge for an electric vehicle.
This does not work on my MK2...Just unlock car and pull out on AC easy
Then you need the updateThis does not work on my MK2...
So how do you stop an AC charge? This does not work on my MK2...
Log in to the app click the charge bar then hit stop charging and enter pinSo how do you stop an AC charge?
Some manufacturers require a double press on the fob, others it is only a single press.
MG have opted for a single press which is a bit silly as it halts the charge sequence if you just want to get in the car!
A double press at least allows you get into the car and see the charge status on the instrument cluster or wherever it is located without interrupting the charge.
I am up to date apparently ?Then you need the update
I will have to ask the dealer about it when it goes in for the steering colum UJ replacementYou can't be as people that had the so called Anti breaking update and cars delivered recently can unlock and it pauses charge for cable removal
OK but do you have to can you just unlock car and remove cable if you wish if you can't then there is a update available for your carI always use the app to stop the charge
I agree with N2STY, I unlock the car, plug my AC charger in, lock the car. It starts charging. when the charging is finished I unlock the car, the plug releases and I remove it. I use a Podpoint solo 3 tethered charger.OK but do you have to can you just unlock car and remove cable if you wish if you can't then there is a update available for your car
