Humidity on the inside of front screen (merged)

I was wondering if anyone else is suffering from humidity on the inside of the front screen. I am not talking about misting, which is usual. Every morning the car has perspiration on the front screen. To clean it, I need a cloth so it can soak up the water. After cleaning the cloth is saturated. Non of my other cars do this.

Happens in my MG5 as well, a wipe and a few mins with the demister on clears it.

I get a lot more moisture on the screen of my current ICE car than a lot of people because I'm only doing short journeys and the A/C doesn't have time to dry it out.

Another reason the OP could be experiencing excessive moisture is that the car's interior is drying out from manufacturing, it was raining during PDI and the doors were open, valeting etc.

I would go back to the dealer....I think it's a front screen bottom sealant that's not applied correctly....

Thanks for the replies guys. No dog (died recently ), air only circulating from inside. I find the car warms up faster than if it takes from outside. But this is the setting on all my other cars too. Front screen sealing.....no idea..... but did come across this.......

I had this problem on my Suzuki, until I started drawing air from the outside. Since I stopped circulating air from the inside it’s never been as bad.

Well I'd certainly be looking for a leak.

I'd also check the boot/spare wheel well and the pollen/cabin filter for water.

Another possibilty I've come across over the years based upon different cars. As we know, condensation occurs when the warm air inside a car hits a cold windscreen. In some cars during the Winter or rain, I've found that if I turned off the A/C and opened the windows prior to parking up so that the car is effectivley filled with air the same temperature as the outside, then there is no warm air/cold windscreen issue. Might be worth a go.

A good reason not to leave recirc on (that it defaults to) when you switch off the heater.
Or you can leave the heater switched on when you turn off the car, so the vents are open to outside (assuming you don't have recirc on).

Assuming the vents don't automatically close when you leave the car....wich I think they do.

Agree with your rationale. OP doesn’t state whether he is using HVAC “normally”, would be interesting to know. @fshuk1 are you a hyper miler or do you keep car nice and toasty with the ac on (as you should imho ?)

Here is yet another issue with cars of the day is they do not retain there settings and the HAVAC systems in MG cars are no different you are forevermore adjusting it. In my MG5 SR it not to much of a problem but MG4 and other cars that are now being fitted with touch screens for most things including there heating systems it is far more difficult. Here’s a little tip that I have used over the years if you puting the car into a garage overnight leave the windows open I did this for years when I could use my garage but nowadays no chance of that far to much junk in there.

So nowadays when the weather is dry and my car is on my driveway I very often leave the tail gate open or again the windows down it does help to remove any moisture from the interior which can help the misting

So I've just bought an MG4, I do roughly 160 miles a day, I have to have the heating on the whole journey or my windows steam up. Every morning my window is absolutely soaking on the inside, I preheat it 20 mins before I get in too. I think I'll be taking a trip back to the dealership after reading others having the same issue

Check your HVAC settings to ensure A/C is on yes that’s right ON, and the recirculating mode is off or set to auto or through flow ventilation that should help to dry it out

Leave the Air Con on permanently.
Here's my settings. Others may vary, but this works for me.

Temperature and fan speed, is up to you. My X Power, has never steamed up.

If you prefer lower fan speeds or warm air to the footwell by default, try using the dedicated screen demist button below the infotainment screen for just as long as it takes to clear each time - when you turn it off with the same button, the settings revert to normal.

Our dealer warned us of this when we bought our MG4. His advice was, you must have air from outside, not eco mode, 21° temp or more and at least a fan of 2–3 on the demist A/C setting. When we do this we almost never get the mist buildup. If we don’t do this, the misting is horrible!
