Has anyone had this message:
‘HV Battery shut off’
There is also an orange battery on the screen with a diagonal line through it.
System ready message had not come up and the car will not move.

Hi, I get this on the MG5 if I if I select D before the car has done its thing.
Just pause after you have got it into 'ready' mode.

Been doing this, and so has my partner and I've not had that message show up so far, where's before we would get it a few times a months.

Yes - a low 12V will throw up lots of errors. You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting the 12V and see if this clears the warning.

we have similar problem as above "HV shut off" warning flashes up and yellow and red battery lights on dash. Car won't start have tried the same things as above several times and still no joy. stuck with a car that won't move, it's just good job it's outside the house and not somewhere else. Tried contacting dealer they answer and say put you through to service cut off every time ??? so frustrating ?

As above see attached photo and if there's any other help anyone can give it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I see red 12V battery sign, do you know if that is OK and connected properly? Tried disconnecting black/negative from 12V battery for a few minutes?

yes it's connected and tried all the resolutions on here but they never worked at the time, but now the outside temperature has reduced now and it has gone OK. So the hot weather must of caused it! but this shouldn't be happening as if we lived in Dubai the car would never work ? ? ? Thanks

Could be low 12v battery
We have had a problem with our mg5 EV long range-we had been away for 3 weeks. It started fine and we had a couple of outings without any issues. then 2 days later we drove a short distance and the car would not turn off,got hv battery shutdown message, would not lock either and no drive either. This was 2 weeks ago-had to be rescued and had car taken to MG garage. They couldn’t look at it till today-they say they have had to contact mg for advice-any comments?

The MG garage are clueless?

Just had the Dutch AA at our house with the message hv battery shutdown.
The mechanic got in the car and pushed the start/stop button... No problem. He said that when the contact is on for a longer period the car shuts down the hv battery. Wait for a while and try again or push the start/stop button for a few seconds. Problem solved!
