Can someone explain a few things regarding this system in the ZS. Have a 2023 model. Understand how heating works. But with Aircon you can set auto mode (standalone button). What does this do? Also you can set an auto mode on the external/internal circulation button. Does this automatically decide if air is recycled or not and of so how? Also does the particulate filter wo knob all settings or only when Aircon is activated? Sorry for questions but the online manual is not very clear b

you set whatever temperature you want in the car, say 21C, and the car worries about it instead of you. Automatic. you don't have to fiddle with fan speed, etc.. it heats or cools as need be
Also you can set an auto mode on the external/internal circulation button.
same thing, the car decides when it's best to recirculate air within the cabin or take fresh air from outside
Does this automatically decide if air is recycled or not and of so how?
yes. in winter it will recirculate until it warms up enough because it would take longer to heat outdoor air than already warmer inside air
Also does the particulate filter wo knob all settings or only when Aircon is activated?

guess you are asking if filter works without Aircon? yes, as long as the air is coming in - not sure if it also works for recycled cabin air, my guess is not.

Yes the car "worries" about it for you in auto.

Trouble is, it seems to have some sort of crises whilst doing that and never seems to be able get close to what you'd expect.

I don't think I've had any car that's failed to do so badly in matching the set temperature with climate control. You'd be forgiven for thinking it isn't working. Although I hear this is a common problem with Chinese design cars.

Mine works spot on - absolutely no complaints. Very happy with it. It even reduces the AC intensity slightly when you switch into ECO mode.

It just way off what other cars do in terms of reacting. You have to set to extremes of temperature for it react - which basically defeats the purpose of climate control.

It sort of works but you can tell it's not been tested properly.

I'm happy with mine since I worked out the icons showing were the air is going, to the left of the on/off, auto button are buttons too.
