It looks like MG are constantly improving. If the ZS was given the updates that the new MG5 has, it would add to an already good car, and cover a lot of the key points many have made.

improvements made on the MG5 include;
✅larger battery - this on the ZS might add another 30miles to the range - I wonder if it’s a straight swap/interchangeable ?
✅automatic aircon - the ZS should really already have this
✅lumbar support - aahhh
✅revised dashboard with more logical layout - looks good

no sunroof though which surprises me.

Agreed, however it would then be more expensive, as would the MG5 be more expensive if it had the 'updates' the ZS has sunroof, MG Pilot, real roof bars...

Removal of the adaptive cruise control and MG Pilot ❌

Downgrading the roof load rating to 0kg/maybe 35kg if we can convince our engineering team to stand behind it / legal that it’ll probably not result in an accident ❌

?

I’m not sure how related they are - the ZS actually had some engineering input from the UK when it was being developed, the 5 is a straight up rebranded Roewe. Would be interesting to know just how similar the battery etc are, if at all.

The MG5 has also not got:-

Emergency Braking
Blind Spot Monitoring
Cross trafic Alert (not sure about that)

Basically the MG ZS and the MG5 are very different cars with some pluses and minuses and some similarities.

Just looked at the specs for the facelift zs petrol and its got digital dash etc .lots of nice touches but i think still no lumbar
