Does anyone know a dealer in the North West that will update the Infotainment/FICM on request? I don't care if I have to pay for it. I've been back and forth with my dealer and they just can't get MG to release the update to them. I'm sick of the stock 2023 infotainment issues and just want it done.

If your dealer can't get, MG to release an update. What makes you think another dealer can? Which is your dealer?

That's what mine came with in November 2022. I got 1100R33 in November 2023, and 1100R38 in November 2024 (i.e. at the services). Fortunately my dealer works with me and will raise Service NOW (SNOW) cases in order to get the updates applied with MG paying.

I had a literal screaming match with my dealer, but got R33 in the end. I am preparing for a retaliate-first screaming match in a couple of weeks to get R38.

Maybe you need to make a list of things you perceive as faults which are fixed by the updates. The obvious one is the temperature offset on the HVAC system to get R38. Cut to the chase.

Or like me - do it yourself using a USB stick and the R33 file from the software update thread.

My dealer was as useless as most and said there wasn't an update from R13 when it was serviced, went home and did it that afternoon and it's simple to do.

Really it needs SIPS connecting and updating the last bits (HVAC and some other module I forget) to get the full effect. I believe not doing it on an SE meant the AC offset temp wasn’t fully resolved and it broke bits like charge limit on models with NMC batteries.

After the pains of updating lots of modules I understand why they may want to leave alone. Painfully slow and annoying when some modules just won’t play ball

Yes the offset temperature is as bad as it was and mine is the SR so I don't need to stop at a set battery percentage when charging. Positive things - android auto now has the audio instructions on satnav working properly, the AC controls are larger and much easier to use and the pull down enables LKA to be turned off much easier.

All told the advantages to me meant it was well worth doing.

Interesting to know. I went the whole hog and got a vci and did the lot. The heater is much much better and I’m convinced the BMS updates did something positive in how far I can get on a charge (well it seems like I can cram more in if I’m honest).

Could you point me to where this is and how to do? That thread is not easy to find things in.

Any guide anywhere on how to do this properly? I'd be interested in doing myself.

Look for the thread vnci vdi or similar. It is a massive read.

It will cost (£150ish for the adapter) and the subscription to the service is like £15/day. The updates are flaky as a flaky thing, be prepared to spend a whole day if you do all modules and ripping your hair out.

You will need a fairly beefy laptop and a decent net connection for when you are in the car too.
