Shock horror, charge points being installed where most EVs are :D

There is a good point about numbers in there but it's not the big deal they make out. I'd like to know the percentage of drivers who A) never use public chargers and B) rely mostly on public chargers. I think it would show the disparity between public and home charging, with by far the most charging purely at home.

Also chargers being installed most on busy routes is perfectly acceptable imo.

It's likely many early adopters have chosen to do so because they were able to charge privately. Using public chargers for longer distance driving.

A look on zap-map along my commute route (35 miles) there are 2 public chargers. A lidl pod point at one end (currently reported not working) and a shell recharge the other which is out of order. Everything else is a significant detour, and questionable if they are public, I'm fairly certain that DPD Chelmsford won't let me in their depot. If I didn't have a driveway and a generous workplace the other end I wouldn't have been so confident in purchasing at this time.

Then it's all a bit chicken and egg, we'll install more chargers when there's enough EV demand, I'll buy an EV when there's enough chargers.
