Car has done 2k miles with not a hiccup on Android auto. Did 250 miles yesterday, no problem.
Today, 50 miles no problem then started cycling. Always used Waze (GPS) and VLC (tunes). It is resetting to same point in both over about 10 second period. Have powered phone off/on a couple of times. Parked up at Knutsford services (?!!?) power cycled car a couple of times. All to no avail. Working fine without Android auto.
Most strange ?.
Next thing to try is disconnect 12v battery but won't do that til we reach destination so wife is currently being Android Wife.
Charging at Haydock Fastned - huuuuge carrot cake.
Anyone got any ideas for AA problem? Pleaseta

Just returned to car, connected Android auto.
Despite the fact the phone has had both apps closed for half an hour it cranked them both up. Vlc recommenced where it left off. Waze started with thr new destination I'd put in pre carrot cake .... and started cycling round again and again, and again....??

Might be a phone network issue.

You've power cycled phone and car several times, but have you tried resetting the Infortainment by holding down the Home button. This usually works for me when I have trouble with AA.

Will try it when I get back to car ? . Think I did but wasn't sure of sequence

Does it work ok if you don't connect to the car?
Yup - connect to wife instead for wife android ?

Might be a phone network issue.never thought of that being a thing ?

Well, that's that sorted then!!
Working now, no idea why ?
Thanks for all your help and ideas.
Was just about to apply the "big 'ommer" fix ??.
Guess it decided 2 hours and 50 miles was enough time to get its head out of its ass ??

I had that the other week when installing a wireless dongle, which paired with the car first time. However AA kept telling me that Spotify was offline, like you I got very frustrated. I then noticed I had no network data signal, although had a phone signal. Tried later and worked perfectly, so put down to a temporary network glitch.

Glad to hear its working again.
