The infotainment screen on my Trophy started to be unstable about 3 weeks ago. The "menu" bar on the right of the screen keeps flicking to the "widgets" screen but would not stabilised. This prevents the selection of any functions including A/C, 360 camera, ADAS etc. Even theb favourite "star" buttons also stop working. Fortunately the hard buttons fit demisting still work so the car is still drivable but not pleasant.

I took it down to the dealer (the car is only 10m old) and has booked it in for the schedule first service in mid January. In the meantime I cannot use heated seats/steering, 360 camera or make any changes to the existing settings.

Has anyone come across this?

I am still on R30 and was told by the dealer that I am due an update when the car is in for its 1st service. What is the correct, updated software available for my Trophy and are there anything else I should ensure I check or inform the dealer whilst it is being serviced?

Hmmm, I don't even listen to the radio. Mostly I listen to Spotify either on AA or via BT. On several occasions when AA refuses to work (I have a BT dongle for it) I tried to switch over to radio (or any other available sources) but all failed so it is not just AA. It's one of the niggle fault that I hope a software update will fix

Sorry I didn't explain properly. This is a known fault and for some reason by changing the DAB radio station it stops the screen flicking to the widget page and the sidebar disappearing. The infotainment screen can then be used normally. You don't have to listen to the car's radio and can go back to listening to whatever you want..

Thanks for clarifying.

I tried to change the DAB radio station this morning but could not even select radio function to do so.

Have reset the infotainment multiple times with no joy.

Just managed to select radio and change the DAB station - pot-luck getting to the radio function but keep pressing and eventually once if my finger worked 😂. The screen now works correctly again and can get at the AC controls as well as the reversing camera etc.

Let's hope it stays that way long enough for me to get to the first service software update next month.

Thanks everyone for the instruction - would have never occurred to me.

I too was on R30, when you get your car serviced check they download infotainment version R59 makes using the infotainment screen so much easier, eg turning off LKA (not permanently though!) a breeze. A/C control is a lot easier visually and physically easier to change with bigger buttons.

Thank you for the info. Hope to get the right software update when the car is serviced - it is being pick-up/return so will have to keep fingers crossed that the dealer got the right software.

Have you reported certain issues, such as Bluetooth pairing issues? MG won't authorise updating the Infotainment software as a warranty task unless there's a reported issue that this update resolves. If MG won't authorise then the dealer won't get paid for doing it.

you should be ok - I had this once during the first year of ownership before anything was updated. Not sure what triggers it, but seems quite rare even though most people seem to get it at some point.
