Has anyone had a specific issue where the infotainment screen continually blinks on and off.

Mine is doing it constantly. Like on a second then off a second.

I’ve tried the standard reboot using the home button but it’s comes straight back on with the same fault.

Is there anything I’m not doing before I call the worst dealer on planet earth?

Try a gentle thump (yes I know that's an oxymoron) downwards on the top of the screen as we used to do with the old TVs. It might be a loose connection.

Indeed sounds like a loose connection. Good lucky with the smealer. I'm convinced there's a random number generator included in my infotainment system - it is unusual for my system to behave consistently from one start to the next. Some behaviour I have seen couldn't have been deliberately coded in the software so maybe it is ye olde spaghetti programming (older coders will recognise the phrase).

Not wanting to teach my granny to suck eggs but do remember to re-boot the system, just in case. Re-boot by holding down home button for approx 30 secs (until screen goes blank). Probably won't help, but I have to do mine approx every couple of months when it starts to act up.

A calibrated thump is always useful!
But if it's a loose connection, it would come and go with vibration.
Not a regular 1s change.
If it's turning on and off regularly with no movement, that sound like an oscillation, could be a thermal thing, heats up, shuts down, cools down turns on, heats up, shuts down. That sort of thing.

If heating or cooling it changes the frequency, that would be an indication, of something. I'm not sure what.

Nah it’s been rebooted numerous times, I’ve left it overnight and still the same ,

Cabin temp makes no difference.

It’s consistent though from the moment it turns on its constant on off with a uniform tempo.

It’s gonna have to go in.

To be fair when I first got the car it did a couple of sporadic reboots, I contacted Macklin Motors in Edinburgh( really happy to shame based on my interaction)

They stated (apparantly this was put through a manager) that if I brought it in and the couldn’t replicate the fault they would charge me £150 for an hours labour.

Alas they are the closest to be but I really have zero faith in them.

Take a few time stamped videos of it happening to show the service dept of any dealer you take it to what you are experiencing (and as proof it does happen even if they are not able to replicate it)

Had this when it came back from service last week, including an update of the info system. Service suggested lock the car with the key (not the door button) and unlock it again. To my astonishment that worked (for a week so far at least).

No blinking but had an interesting widescreen/postbox view for a bit last week

I did think this as well.

Is this standard times for garages these days. Everyone I’ve called can’t see me for a month.

The world is broken

Personally, think that "can't see you for a month" shite, is total Bollox! 🤬

Yeah but what’s the motivation behind not dealing with it promptly, I take it they don’t make much of warranty work.

I do like the car but the dealer network has really got me having regrets.

I’ve never had issues like this with any other manufacturer.

God knows. What goes on in some MG dealers minds. They treat the customer with utter contempt. 😡🤬
