As the configurator has gone live today, does anyone know what the insurance band for the two models will be?
This is purely a guess, but given the performance on offer, I'd expect groups 45-50. Jaguar i-pace is group 49 for comparisonAs the configurator has gone live today, does anyone know what the insurance band for the two models will be?
And for cars that don't make it to registration by April 2025 there will be the extra VED to pay, this year it is £590 instead of £180 for 12 months.
For insurance an XPower is group 40 and it shares body panels with other MG4's so in theory cheaper/easier to repair bodywork damage.

That £40k ceiling needs to change (or perhaps that’s how it was planned anyway to recoup lost revenue). It’s too low now - it was designed as an expensive car supplement but many many EV’s easily exceed £40k without really being ‘prestige or “expensive” cars’.And for cars that don't make it to registration by April 2025 there will be the extra VED to pay, this year it is £590 instead of £180 for 12 months.

Similar to mine - £705 (just cancelled multicar as I’m carless until the Cyberster) but £630 if I add the house back in! Just need a bloody delivery date for the car now!!!Just got an insurance quote from Admiral adding the Cyberster to the current multi car an extra @ £655 for a full year for two drivers. I am happy with that.
The current Congestion charge exemption for EV's in Central London comes to an end in late December '25.A bit like Dieselgate can see these guys coming down the road with charges. 500+ tax to tax any thing "premium" nowadays. Obviously theres a shortfall in VED revenue
by 2030 im sure theyll say no more ICE cars in central London unless classic or residents with a view to getting people to get rid of their private cars in and around London or taxing them out regardless of propulsion method. With the ULEZ cameras up i envisage another charging method coming in once ULEZ is over 90% compliance (no money being made from expensive cameras + vandalisation). At the moment theyre chasing people who have up to thousands in fines refusing to pay lol
Even EVs at some point will be congestion charged for coming into London in the 2030s. At the moment they get away with paying £10 to £20 per year at any time.
I put in one of the prototype number plates in compare the market. Its down as MG C Automatic Petrol. I think the plate has been used on multiple test cars. Insurance came up lower than all my previous cars at £612. 15 years no claim. London. Male 38. GTR in comparison is between £1000-£1600. I think the MG price will change though. This is like CRZ/Smart car
Was this the trophy or GT and how many years NCD?Just got an insurance quote from Admiral adding the Cyberster to the current multi car an extra @ £655 for a full year for two drivers. I am happy with that.
