Irritating app.

Can somebody please explain to a relatively new MG4 Trophy owner why the declined and accepted privacy notice messages appear when you haven’t touched them.
The app does not seem to be reliable in binding to the car even though the home Wi-Fi signal is good.

I am confused and think you need to be a bit more specific about your problems. For example you say 'binding' which is the process of linking your iSmart account to the car. (A once-only task unless you change accounts or cars.) Is that what your problem is?

Or are you talking about the process of communicating with the car after binding? This has known foibles.

As far as I know the car uses its eSim for communication with its servers not WiFi so you need to be a good mobile signal area.

it’s not of much help perhaps, but I never get any privacy notices, so I would say that’s out of the ordinary at least. What phone are you using? Perhaps someone with a similar phone would be a better comparison

there are privacy notices that have to be accepted on the cars head unit.
I cannot remember where you find them but they are in the car not the phone.

Also don't worry about them, I used to get loads but it does nothing to the functionality.

@JerryMG, if you log out of the app you need to accept the privacy notice at the bottom of the login screen before it will let you in again. I never log out but, occasionally, the system logs me out and I have to login again. If you have shared your iSmart credentials with another person and they log in you will be logged out. (I don't know how this new friends and family sharing works.)

When you are logged in the displayed data is likely to be stale. You need to swipe down on the MG page to refresh. In my case this does not work consistently and a remote connection error is reported; so I tap the shield icon (next icon) to obtain a status and then go back to the home page which is usually refreshed.

Sometimes the car 'goes to sleep' and it needs a unlock/lock to wake it up. Finally, sometimes the servers are not accessible and so it a question if waiting until they one on stream.

There are probably other foibles but I have not one across them yet in my usage.

The “privacy notice accepted” notifications are a minor annoyance. I’m not aware of the cause or how to prevent them.

Try writing to iSMART support through the app if you’re desperate for answers.
