IS IT PERMITTED TO INSTALL TOW BAR/HITCH ON THE MG5?

My MG5 LR is old facelift.
So, it’s the original MG5 then that’s looks a little like the VW Passat from the front and NOT the newer face lift model.
Different models could have allowances.
The roof rails are the typical example on the MG5 models.
It’s looking like a max towing weight of 500kg which is fairly small.

could you share me the link to explain the max towing weight for the old MG LR?

Original MG5/LR are not rated for towing.
Facelift 5 is.
Thanks @Lguk that's why I asked the OP for clarification on the model type above, but I was a bit confused by the reply of "MG5 LR is old facelift".
So it was a 50/50 chance and quoted 500kg for the face lift model.
Oh well ?‍♂️.

The LR was technically a 'face-lift' model a year after the SR so I can understand the confusion.

The trim level is the easy way to tell though. Exite/Exclusive are pre-facelift

Much like the roof rails, I suspect there's zero difference in the construction of the vehicle, just a different level of certificatation. The facelift tow bar would probably fit just fine, but the car not having a plated towing weight would mean you can't locally tow with it. (I know people frequently install them for bike carriers)
