Is OTA going to remain a lie?

OTA updates are present in current software versions, and I'm pretty sure they were in the first release. There are even hints of being able to download and postpone the update overnight. The problem is server side, they never enabled the possibility.

Agreed ... and I think that applies with 1100R33 for the SE, as I found my car was much better after getting the update a year ago. :)

Funny how we used to manage without software updates wi' ne'er a problem.
I'm totally loving my MG4 exactly as it is and would be happy if it never has another software update. I mean why 🤷.
As the man said, be careful what you wish for. It's a bit like meds. This'll sort your symptoms but you'll need these 3 to counteract the side effects!
Trailing edge rocks imho 😉👍

I mostly agree, although when the bugs are in the things you use everyday, it is a real pain! But yes, if it works, don't break it! 😁

I think they should reconsider their business model. Instead of telling the early adopters tough luck, we'll never let you have OPD or whatever, they should offer things like that as paid-for upgrades. Some people would buy, some wouldn't, but everyone would have the option. Driver profiles is another thing I think people would pay for if they introduced an infotainment version that had these.

Instead they seem to have the attitude that the car is as you bought it, and unless you are complaining about an actual fault then we won't give you anything better, ever, even if we've got it and it's possible. "My car doesn't have OPD" or "my car doesn't support driver profiles" aren't faults as the car wasn't sold with these features, so they aren't going to provide them. Very short-sighted. They could be making money from these updates and have happy customers, instead of a bunch of people declaring that they'll never buy another MG.
