iSmart Companion App - Incorrect Vehicle Status

This probably doesn't apply to the ZS but on the Prius, if the 12v was disconnected for any length of time or the windows went out of sync for any reason you had to initialise each of the windows physically as in press down and hold for 3 seconds after it reaches the bottom, then repeat for up again holding for 3 seconds.
I think it's worth a shot.

I have given it a go, but no joy.
It still reports the drivers window open ?.
Strangely, if any of the other windows are open, it does not report their condition at all.
The App is somehow frozen / convinced on a previous report, when the drivers window was slightly lift open ?.
All the other reported values from the App look fine, it’s just the side window conditions it is struggling to get correct - It’s really odd ?.
Not a major concern, but frustrating at the same time !.
Edit :- I have just noticed, if you disable the rear windows from the drivers door,
The LED light comes on in the switch ( indicating that they are now switched off ) but I can still open the rear windows !.
I can not disable the rear windows.

Do you mean you can still open them from the actual switch on the rear door or the drivers switch ?
If the latter that's normal.

Yeah - If you disable the rear windows from the drivers door control ( Orange LED on ) it prevents the rear seat passengers ( many aimed at children I guess ) from opening the windows.
But, the driver can still manually override and bring down the rear windows from switches in the drivers door, even if the rear windows are disabled.

Perhaps if MG had a web page to look at the server data, rather than via the app we might be able to eliminate the app..

Requesting signing back in to the App, has happened a few times for me since March 18th 22.
On the whole, it’s been okay ( ish ).
The items it sometimes get incorrect are :-
It sometimes reports the sun roof open ( when it’s not ) but this resolves itself with a second refresh scan.
The internal temperature of the car, is sometimes shown as “No Reading”.
Again, a second rescan will correct it.
But the side windows ……… well it’s a odd one all right.
A couple of times, it would show the drivers window as being down, when it was not.
But after a couple of refreshes, it would rectify itself.
But now, it’s constantly reporting the drivers window open and will not change its mind !.
Odd ??????.

Same here. I tested it. Sat in the car whilst the wife was shopping, powered up the car, pulled all the windows down, then closed them all and powered down the car. Checked the app and it reported correctly. Half an hour later after having done nothing, I rescanned and it was reporting drivers window open. It sure does have a mind of its own. ?

It’s odd because it use to report correctly, every single time.
Then a few weeks ago, it stated becoming a 50 / 50 situation, now it constantly reports the drivers window open every single time.
So a at least it is consistently wrong now !.
Question ??‍- If you open any of the other windows ( except for the drivers window ) does the App detect any of them correctly ?,
None of mine do !.
It’s like pushing a super market trolly, it has a complete mind of its own ! ?.

Mine are disabled but not for children, for my Bedlington Terrier (Dog) who sussed how to open them ?

None of mine do !.

Just been out to the drive to check. Other windows don't show up on my app, only drivers. Maybe the app only shows drivers window. Anyway, tried lowering window, holding for 5 secs, then closing, holding for 5 secs (this used to be the way I reset the one-push setting on my Jag) and rechecked the app. Still showing drivers window open! At the very least, it is consistent.

It has to be a bug in the app, as the window is most definitely closed. Not sure how we'd report this (or if they would be interested at this time).

Maybe it thinks they're open because they're not tinted enough ?

Yeah - I agree !.
It does appear strange that we both have the very same issue.
As @Gadget Geek has said, it could be a fault sensor / micro switch in the drivers door ?.
Same as you, not sure who we could ask to be honest.
I have a feeling its a software "Glitch" ?.
It's a 200 mile around trip to a dealer that I trust to look at my car.
A bit over the top really.
I will see how it goes !.
Interested to hear if any other owners are witnessing the same thing folks ????.

Possibly daft question; are there any updates in the car you've put off doing?
If yes it could be the old software isn't sending data to MGs servers correctly.

No I haven’t declined any updates. I thought maybe MG turned it off as it seemed the least accurate from the reports here ?

I have been recently been exploring the iSmart companion app. and noticed the status of the window is ‘Open’ when it is clearly closed and locked. I have attached an image that shows this.

Has anyone experienced the same or similar incorrect status reporting?

The widow status still appears on the App for the drivers door, but it always reports the window open all of the time now !.

Hi all, as a new ZS long range owner, I stumbled across this thread. I’ve seen a number of times since I got the car that the first time I pull status, it reports sun roof open and sometimes tyre pressures =0.0. An immediate re-status check shows everything correct. For me, it looks like the first status pull is somehow missing some data. By running it again, somehow it clears the software queue.

A related question - does anyone know if there is a time limit after the last use of the car when the status in iSmart stops working? I left the car untouched for about a day and noticed the status check always failed. When I went and unlocked and locked the car, it worked fine again after that.
